NeoGraft– our cost at Savannah Hair Restoration, located at Savannah Plastic Surgery, is $4.50 per graft for 1000 or more grafts. Up to 2500 grafts can be taken at one sitting. For fewer than 1000 grafts, the price is $5.00 per graft. Thus, 1000 grafts would cost $4500.
Due to the cost, some patients may prefer to have a small number of grafts per session, They can repeat the procedure every six months or so when their financial status permits, and until they achieve the hair density that they want.
Each graft contains from 1 to 4 hair follicles and therefore 1 to 4 hairs per graft. The average is 2.5 hairs per graft. So, 1000 grafts would yield an average 2500 grafted hairs.
One must ask how many follicles and thus hairs will be in each graft. Some surgeons use only one follicle per graft. This means that 1000 grafts would yield only 1000 hairs. If done properly, the FUE with NeoGraft technology should vary between one and four, with an average of 2.5 hairs per graft. Since 1000 grafts would yield an average of 2500 hairs instead of 1000 hairs, you would get over double the value if the price were the same per graft. Plus, more than double the density and appearance.
If body hair is used for transplantation due to lack of scalp donor hair, the cost may be as high as $12 per graft. Only about 750 grafts can be taken from the body per procedure as it is more tedious. In fact, though we offer and perform body hair transplants, very few doctors offer this as an option.
Another very tedious procedure is hair transplantation to the eyebrows. The cost is typically around $3500.
